How Much Memory Do I Need?

That depends on your computer will be used. Below are some general guidelines for determining system memory needs. These will vary depending on additional hardware installed, programs running, etc.

General Home Use: 1GB to 2GB is generally sufficient for most home applications including internet, email, instant messaging and productivity apps. (Systems running Windows XP can run with 512MB, but performance will be diminished.)

Business Use: 2GB to 4GB. Supports demanding business applications, email, internet, instant messaging and so on.

Gaming & Multimedia: 2GB to 4GB - Photo editing, light video editing and gaming.

Graphic Design & Video Editing: 3GB and Up - For high-end graphic design and video editing applications.
